Learn About The Rehab Lab

Located in the USF Health School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, our state-of-the-art simulation laboratory is an integral part of the curriculum. Using realistic patient pathologies, the lab provides students with an opportunity to practice their clinical skills in a safe environment and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in patient care. Designed to simulate real-world environments, the simulation lab allows students to navigate through the complexities of patient safety, intervention appropriateness and monitoring to ensure their patients’ well-being.Learn About The Rehab Lab

This twinning aims at scaling up REHAB-LAB, a fabrication lab integrated into a healthcare organisation where patients / residents can design their own technical aids and manufacture them with the help of 3D printing technology. REHAB-LAB is a person-centred innovation promoted by the Mutualist Centre for Functional Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation (CMRRF) in Kerpape, France. It is based on an approach of collaboration between patients / residents and their occupational therapists.

A pragmatic multimethod approach has been used: 1) logic model development; and 2) exploration of its fidelity and desirability. The twinning process was carried out through a series of face-to-face meetings and online Delphi surveys. The results of the first round of the Delphi survey will be discussed at the next face-to-face meeting in September 2023.

The twinning will lead to an improved and broader knowledge of technological innovations for the rehabilitation of patients with stroke and people living with MCI on a European level. It will also help to identify similarities and differences in the services and infrastructures available, and provide suggestions for further improvements.
